AGE Creators Alliance Community Content Program

AGE Creators Alliance is a community content program that lets third party publishers create and sell PDFs compatible with Green Ronin’s Adventure Game Engine (AGE) RPGs through DriveThruRPG.

Rules

You can make content that is compatible with the following AGE RPGs from Green Ronin: Blue Rose, Cthulhu Awakens, Fantasy AGE, and Modern AGE. You may use the game terms from these rulebooks. You are not allowed to copy sections of any AGE book from Green Ronin. Including small rules references and stats is permissible, but for anything larger, refer the reader to the appropriate core rulebook or supplement. For example, “See Fantasy AGE Core Rulebook, Chapter 2.”

Unless we specifically open an intellectual property as part of this program, Green Ronin’s settings are off limits. This is doubly true of our licensed settings, so you may not use The Expanse or The Fifth Season in any way, for example.

Right now, the open settings you can use are Blue Rose, Threefold (from the Modern AGE line), and Cthulhu Awakens. We expect support material to maintain the spirit of our settings.

If you want to create material for Cthulhu Awakens, make sure you read and understand the Cthulhu Legalities section below.

Product Types

You may publish setting material and adventures through the AGE Creators Alliance program. You may not publish rules focused sourcebooks or stand-alone games. It is permissible to include rules content (new adversaries, magic items/equipment, talents, powers, etc.) in your products but these sections should take up no more than 50% of each product’s page count.

Media

AGE Creators Alliance is for roleplaying game materials only. It does not cover fiction except for short vignettes in an RPG work. It does not cover software or comics.

Art

You can use the art made available to the AGE Creators Alliance but nothing else from Green Ronin Publications. You cannot use AI generated artwork. You are encouraged to commission new art for your publications. 

Logos and Trade Dress

The AGE Creators Alliance logo must appear on the cover and the credits page of your work. You may also use the Blue Rose, Cthulhu Awakens, Fantasy AGE, or Modern AGE Compatibility logos as appropriate on the cover and credits page.

The logos must be discernible and legible at normal full-screen viewing size, but do not need to be large and should not be the primary logos or titles on the cover.

You may use the templates and trade dress provided as part of the AGE Creators Alliance. You may not use the trade dress affiliated with other Green Ronin works, or Green Ronin logos not specifically allowed as part of this program.

Legal

The following text must appear within your product, wherever the work otherwise lists legal and copyright information. Choose one of the allowed games in the bracketed text as appropriate to your product.

This product was created under license. [Game Title] and its logo, and the AGE Creators Alliance and its logo, are trademarks of Green Ronin Publishing, LLC in the U.S.A. and other countries.

This work contains material that is copyright Green Ronin Publishing, LLC and/or other authors. Such material is used with permission under the Community Content Agreement for AGE Creators Alliance.

All other original material in this work is copyright [year] by [your legal name or company name] and published under the Community Content Agreement for AGE Creators Alliance.

All AGE Creators Alliance products must include the following on the cover:

Cthulhu Legalities

You must only refer to material in the Cthulhu Awakens core rulebook or devise entirely original creatures, characters, and stories that have never appeared in a Cthulhu Mythos work in any medium before. When an entity in Cthulhu Awakens has a different name in another Mythos source, you must refer to it by its Cthulhu Awakens name. This holds true regardless of the copyright status of the creature, character, or story.

This may seem restrictive, but the Cthulhu Mythos as a whole is a legal minefield, with rights held by a web of people, companies, and organizations. Elements you might think come from Lovecraft, don’t. Things you might think are public domain, aren’t. It’s just better for all concerned if you build from Cthulhu Awakens and/or create something new.

Neither your Work nor any advertising, promotions, press releases, or other documents affiliated with the Work may contain racist, homophobic, discriminatory, or other repugnant views; depictions or descriptions of criminal violence against children; rape or other acts of criminal perversion; or other obscene material without the express written permission of Green Ronin Publishing, LLC in a document separate from this License.

Neither your Work nor any advertising, promotions, press releases, or other documents affiliated with the Work may contain any claim that you or the Work has been sanctioned or approved by Green Ronin Publishing, or is affiliated with Green Ronin Publishing in any way, other than to acknowledge that the Work is produced and distributed as part of the AGE Creators Alliance program.
