Publisher or Content Community Creator? Find the Right Path
If you want to sell your work on DriveThruRPG or other Roll20 marketplaces, it’s important to know whether you should be a publishing partner or a community content creator. These options have different requirements, benefits, and publishing processes.
Publishing Partners (Publishers)
Publishing partners are individuals, companies, or teams who set up a full partner account to sell their own titles directly. This gives you complete control over your product listings, pricing, and sales.
- Requires setting up a Partner Account.
- You own all rights to your content and manage your own branding.
- Access to detailed sales reports, promotional tools, and other publisher resources.
- Not tied to a specific licensed setting—you can publish in your own worlds and systems.
New Partners
If you’re new to publishing with us, you’ll first need to create a partner account and complete the setup process. Full guidance can be found in our Publishing Partner Account Help Center.
If you run into problems while setting up, please reach out to our Partner Relations team.
Existing Partners
If you already have a partner account and have a question or concern about your account or products, you can:
- Search the DriveThru Partner Help Center for guidance.
- Join the Roll20 | DriveThru Discord community.
- Contact Partner Relations directly (especially for financial matters).
Community Content Program Creators
Community content programs let you create and sell work for specific, licensed settings (such as the Miskatonic Repository for Call of Cthulhu or Dungeon Masters Guild for D&D). These programs provide access to official art and rules for that setting, but you must follow their specific guidelines.
- No need to set up a full partner account—your regular customer account will work.
- Perfect for adventures, supplements, or resources tied to a specific RPG world.
- You share sales revenue with the IP owner and DriveThru under the program’s terms.
- Must follow the program’s content guidelines.
