Pinnacle Entertainment | Savage Worlds Adventure's Guild (SWAG) Content Guidelines

Relationship to OneBookShelf (OBS) and Pinnacle Entertainment Group (PEG)

Savage Worlds Adventurer’s Guild allows you to create new and original content using the Savage Worlds rule system and sell it on OneBookShelf platforms (only!).

OBS includes: DriveThruRPG.com, RPGNow.com, DriveThruCards.com, DriveThruFiction.com, DriveThruComics.com, and WargameVault.com. All formats are available to creators in the SWAG program. OneBookShelf operates the Savage Worlds Adventurer’s Guild site under license from Pinnacle Entertainment Group.

How Do I Publish Content in SWAG?

For creators, we have a range of art, templates, and logos to help you accomplish your ideas for Savage Worlds, and we have created comprehensive guidelines to start sharing your worlds with the real world.

Unlike other community content programs, creators retain the rights to the material they publish. If you want to borrow from another creator’s work, you must get their permission first. And kindly give them credit for it!

The creator also agrees to place the following notice in a legible format and a conspicuous location in their content: “This game references the Savage Worlds game system, available from Pinnacle Entertainment Group at www.peginc.com. Savage Worlds and all associated logos and trademarks are copyrights of Pinnacle Entertainment Group. Used with permission. Pinnacle makes no representation or warranty as to the quality, viability, or suitability for purpose of this product."

Logos and Artwork

The Savage Worlds Adventurer’s Guild logo must appear on your title’s cover in a clear and legible fashion. It should be large enough to read “Adventurer’s Guild” when examined on its page, and large enough to see the basic Savage Worlds logo in a thumbnail on OBS platforms.

The logo may be resized but may not otherwise be altered in any way.

Pinnacle provides a Style Guide, logos, templates, and other artwork you may use in your content. Creators using artwork other than these select pieces from Pinnacle are assumed to have paid for the right to use it. Using artwork illegally is grounds for dismissal from the SWAG program.

AI Art

This Community Content Program follows the DTRPG Guidelines with AI Art.

Tool- and AI-Generated Images

The following policy applies only to titles listed by publishers on DriveThruRPG. Other sites and community programs are, for now, exempt from these rules.

3rd Party Tool-Generated Images

All product listings that feature art or maps generated using a tool or service designed to reduce or offset the artistic process (such as donjon, Inkarnate, or Dungeondraft) are required to utilize the Format > Creation Method > 3rd Party Tool-Made title filter, except in the following instances:

the tool uses only art assets that you have created by hand;
the art has undergone additional processing or modification post-generation (such as animating generated maps or tokens, painting and compositing over content, etc.); or
the product is expressly approved by OneBookShelf.

AI-Generated Images

All product listings that feature art created automatically by an AI-generation tool meant to bypass or replace human artistry, such as ArtBreeder, MidJourney, NightCafe, etc. are required to utilize the Format > Creation Method > AI-Generated title filter, except in the following instances:

the art has undergone significant processing/modification post-generation; or
the product is expressly approved by OneBookShelf.

Note for AI-Generated Stock Art

Titles containing any art rendered by AI-generated tools that are sold as "Stock Art" (under the Product Type > Publisher Resources filter) must also display the following statement in their product description:

This product contains assets that were, wholly or in part, procedurally generated with the aid of creative software(s) powered by machine learning.

Titles that do not comply are subject to removal from the marketplace. Repeat offenders may have their publishing permissions revoked.

Fantasy Grounds

Pinnacle Entertainment Group has a strong partnership with Fantasy Grounds, who make an excellent “virtual table-top.” Content for Fantasy Grounds must display the Fantasy Grounds logo on its cover.

Setting up your SWAG Title

Once you’ve created your content, click through the Community Content Agreement with OneBookShelf and upload it.

Note that you may not use Pinnacle’s settings or IPs, such as Deadlands, Rippers, or The Last Parsec, or any licensed settings such as Fear Agent™, The Goon™, Flash Gordon™, or Rifts® for Savage Worlds, at this time.

Payment & Pricing

Creators can offer their work at a set price, “Pay What You Want,” or free of charge ($0). You can check the site for sales data, plus ratings, and reviews of your work. You should promote it on your own social media and other outlets where roleplaying game fans gather.

Based on historic data from DriveThruRPG sales for PDFs, the most successful price points are $1.00, $2.00, $2.95, $3.95, $4.99, $7.95, $10.00, $14.95, and $19.99.

You should also compare your price to existing Pinnacle products to get a sense for what the market is used to.

Once you activate your Savage Worlds Adventurer’s Guild title for public sale, your account will begin to accrue a 60% royalty every time your title sells. You can withdraw your accumulated royalties via PayPal by going to the My Money section of the Account page. Note that the My Money section of your Account page will not display until you have a balance accrued.

There is a $2 fee to cover the cost of each withdrawal, but you will pay no other fees, either to us or to PayPal, to receive your money.

To prevent certain types of fraud, we must hold back the amount of royalties you earned in the past 60 days from being eligible for withdrawal. The amount eligible for withdrawal at any time is your total account earnings balance less the amount earned in the past 60 days. You may use your earnings as site credit to pay for orders on site; this will lower your earnings balance and the amount eligible for withdrawal.

We pay royalties only via PayPal. Creating a PayPal account is free and easy, and in most countries, you can connect your PayPal account to your bank account and transfer money from PayPal to your bank in a few business days.

Other Options

Savage Worlds Adventurer’s Guild products may only be published via OneBookShelf.

You may also publish using the Savage Worlds Fan License if you wish to produce unapproved, free, material on your own website. Fan licensed material does not allow Pay What You Want pricing or exclusive content to patrons—it must be completely and immediately free to everyone.

You may also apply for an official license and become a member of our Savage Worlds Ace program. Aces may sell products on their own site as well as through OneBookShelf.
